This is a very well designed simple rack.  The bicycles are held securely so as not to damage each other or the vehicle.  This rack will fit either 2 or 1 1/4 inch receivers.   When not hauling bicycles this rack folds up out of the way.  This is one of my favorite racks.

Hollywood HR 1000 Sport Rider 2

The Hollywood HR1000 Sport Rider 2 is a Platform style receiver hitch rack that will work in either 1 1/4 inch or 2 inch receivers.  This rack has a lot of parts to assemble but goes together fairly easily.  Expect to take 15 to 45 minutes to assemble.

This rack does an excellent job of protecting your bikes and your car from rubbing on each other.

Yes this has a lot of parts but they go together easily. Looking at the completed rack helps.

When not in use you can fold up the platform of the Hr1000.  Also when the bikes are not on the rack you can fold down the upright to allow the back door of your vehicle to swing open.

You can easily adjust the wheel supports to fit different wheelbase bicycles although they will not go out far enough to fit a long wheelbase recumbent or a Tandem.  A friend of mine clamped on a front fork mount extension that he can mount the fork of his recumbent to.  This has worked well for him.
